Why Is Sleep So Important?

People with Alzheimer’s and dementia have problems sleeping well or increases in behavioural problems that usually begin in the morning and continues in the night.  Sleep pattern changes is a result from the impact of Alzheimer’s on the brain. This disruption in the body’s sleep-wake cycle can lead to more behavioural problems.

The Importance Of Balancing Positive And Negative Ions

An Ion is an invisible particle which has electric charge. The air around usBalancing Positive And Negative Ions is filled with electrically charged particles. Positively or Negatively charged and they are called Ions.

Both Positive and Negative Ions are found naturally in the air. However, due to advanced modern technology, the environment we live in today has far more sources of Positive Ions than in the past. This creates an electrical imbalance in the air and our bodies.

The air around us are filled with positive particles. Positive Ions can be produced by commonly usage of handphones, laptops, ipads, radios, transmitters, switching on of televisions, heating and cooling systems. These can damage our body cells and deteriorates our overall physical health.

Ocean surf, sea waves, waterfalls, water and plants generate natural Negative Ions which are beneficial to our health. There are also certain minerals that emit Negative Ions for example Tourmaline and Germanium.

I have never seen info on sleep like this. Ions? I agree that you can’t put a price on sleep man. It has so many benefits to your health. I just wish I knew how ions affect sleep. Hi there, well I really can’t agree more about the sleep and the lack of it. When I was in my twenties and even early thirties I slept all the time, I would rarely wake during the night, I would sleep and stay asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.
Then my gorgeous, beautiful, kids came along are well- my sleep literally went out the window, My sleep is broken, I stay up much later to get all the jobs done that I couldn’t do during the day and up early to start the day before everybody else rises.
Thanks for your knowledge and advice- I need to think about it a lot.

      Hi Paula,

thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I remembered those days when I was working in the night shifts and came back in the morning. I can hardly sleep in the day as my young kids were jumping around. Those disturbed sleeps have affected my work performance. But those were in the past. My kids have grown up and now I have a good bed and good sleep every day. Thanks to my negative ions and far infrared mattresses.

I haven’t been sleeping all that well lately and I think it’s a mix of a couple things: my mattress and just not having enough hours in my day to complete tasks I want to get done. I find the best nights of sleep I get are days when I get a good workout in. And I also know people that take melatonin on a regular basis – do you think that’s a good idea?

    1. wesley Post author

      Hi Matt,

Thank you for stopping by. Melatonin supplements are sometimes used to treat sleep problems as it helps to control your sleep and wake cycles. In most cases, these supplements are safe in low doses for short and long term use. However, it is important to talk to your doctor to use the right dosage and to find out if melatonin is right for you. Having at least 8 hours of daily good sleep, keeping to a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise is still the best medicine for a healthy lifestyle.

      Best regards

Sleep is obviously so important for our health. After all, we spend one third of our lives sleeping. Lack of sleep can be detrimental to our health and can aid in disease. I was not aware that negative ions had anything to do with healthy sleeping. It makes sense that air quality plays a role in good health, so why not negative ions. If they help in slowing down or preventing disease then that is a good thing. We sure don’t need dementia or Alzheimers either.

      Hi Rob,

Thank you for taking your time to read Negative Ions are beneficial to our human body. It strengthens the body’s immune system. The key is to encourage the production of Negative Electric Ions and the reduction of Positively Charged Ions. Having at least 8 hours of good sleep will help keep your brain alert and focus.
